In this guide, we look at 21 of the best gaming keyboards on the market. We rated and reviewed some of the top gaming keyboards at various different budgets to help you make your decision easier.
Having a high-end gaming computer is essential to getting the most out of your PC gaming experience. However, if you pair your gaming PC with a cheap keyboard or mouse, you’re really limiting your ability to play your favorite games at a high level.
For a lot of games—especially non-multiplayer games, or older games—having a high-end keyboard is not going to be essential. However, if you’re playing any of today’s top eSports titles, or first-person shooters, your keyboard could mean the difference between victory and defeat.
And, if you’re going to go all out on your gaming computer, why not get a keyboard to match the quality of your system?
In this guide we’ve taken a look at 21 of the best gaming keyboards currently available. These keyboards are specifically designed with gamers in mind and will help you take your experience to the next level.
The guide is broken down into price category so that if you’re working with a specific budget, you can easily find which gaming keyboard is best for you.

And, finally, you have the Mad Catz STRIKE7, which is the most expensive option in this price range, but comes with an LCD screen, a bunch of separate dedicated programmable keys, and just a general extreme feel to it.
So, if you have a big budget and you’re looking for a keyboard on the higher end of the spectrum, these options are probably for you.

Mad Catz STRIKE7
Mad Catz is known to make crazy looking gaming peripherals that seem very over engineered and are normally slightly higher on the price front as well in comparison to other gaming peripherals from different brands. But with the STRIKE7, they have created something that is truly unique and one of a kind.
This is no mechanical keyboard, but the keys are the last reason why you would want to buy something like this. It is one of the only modular keyboards in the world, and features a detachable number pad and macro keys section that you can either hard-fit, or keep loosely attached to the main keyboard.
In addition to the detachable macro keys section, you also have a function-strip module that contains 4 additional macro keys that allow you have a total of 24 dedicated macro keys when you also plug in the detachable number pad module.
When you factor in the triple-profile support, you get a total of 72 macros (24 for each of the 3 profiles). You can switch between profiles and change the backlight pattern right from the modular VENOM dock module that is actually a combination of a central control module, TFT LCD panel, and 3 trigger buttons.
This module contains its own memory and processor, and can sync with your game to display in-game stats as well as other data. You don’t need to access the desktop software to set macros or reprogram keys- you can do it from the touchscreen LCD itself.
Then, you have the three-segment detachable wrist rest. You can attach any of the three segments at a given time, or merge all three together to create a full-sized wrist rest. Both the height and width of the wrist rest can be adjusted.
You can use this keyboard in the compact mode (just the main keyboard), extended mode (main unit + macro and number pad module), or the fully extended mode (extended mode + function strip).
The VENOM LCD module has a couple of USB pass-through ports built-in. This keyboard also comes with a set of custom keycaps, although you can use Cherry keycaps since it is not a mechanical keyboard.

The keys are mounted in an open configuration, with the switches protruding outside the top plate. The keyboard comes with a detachable full-size rubber textured wrist rest, and there is both USB as well as audio pass-through on the top.

Tesoro Lobera Supreme
If you like keyboards with lots of lighting options and tons of macro keys, then the Tesoro Lobera Supreme is definitely worth a try.
It has zero dedicated macro keys- but hey, it doesn’t need any because every single key on this keyboard can be used as a macro key. Yep, all 104 keys on this gaming keyboard are RGB backlit and support reprogramming. You can save up to 300 different macros on the 512 KB of onboard memory.
Everything can be customized from the Tesoro gaming software suite that allows you to reprogram keys, set macros, and change the lighting options.
One of the really cool features of this keyboard, other than the full-spectrum RGB illumination on the keys, is the lighting on the other parts of the body. Both the left and the right sides feature accent lighting and even the rubberized wrist rest has little illuminated indicators on it.
There are no dedicated media controls, but you can access all of the media playback functions from the F-keys. The entire keyboard is made from thick ABS plastic, and the mechanical switches are mounted on a heavy steel back plate that acts as the chassis for the entire keyboard.
The top of the keyboard frame features a nice dark brushed aluminum finish, even though it is actually made of plastic. The switches used in this Tesoro model are not actual Cherry switches, although they feel very similar to the MX reds.
The linear action is quite good for gaming, and you cannot tell the difference between the feel of these switches and the real Cherry reds if you haven’t had a lot of experience with a true mechanical keyboard before. There are two USB 2.0 pass-through ports on the top side, along with dual 3.5 mm jacks for inserting your headphones and microphone input.

Corsair Gaming K70 LUX
If you want your gaming keyboard to have all the good stuff that a gaming keyboard could possibly have, then the Corsair K70 LUX is here to fulfill all your needs. It is built like a tank, sports mechanical switches, has a USB pass-through port, dedicated media controls, textured volume wheel, per-key controllable RGB backlighting, a large textured wrist rest, and full N-key rollover with macro options.
Impressed yet?
If you purchase this keyboard, you will get Cherry MX Brown mechanical switches that boast a whopping 1.2 mm actuation distance, with a short 3 mm travel. All you have to do is touch the key and the hair trigger like switches will instantly register your input. You can execute infinite double taps without having to wait for the keys to reset- because quite literally there is a near-zero reset period on these switches.
Apart from the Brown switches, this keyboard also boasts programmable macro keys. In fact, every single key on this keyboard is programmable via the CUE software. You have nearly unlimited lighting options, and can download custom lighting configuration files from the Corsair forums if you are too lazy to setup your own cool looking lightshow.
The keyboard comes with a free set of extra keycaps for the WASD and QWERTYF keys, and these are intended specially for FPS and MOBA players. There is a USB pass-through on the back, right next to the braided cable which is as thick as a jute rope.
The aircraft grade brushed anodized aluminum frame is extremely tough and fits in with the exposed switch design perfectly.

All but the Rosewill RK-9000V2 listed below come with RGB backlit keys and every option in this price range has mechanical switches.
The real difference between these keyboards and the ones listed above are that these options, as a whole, don’t contain as many programmable keys and don’t have quite as big or durable of build qualities.
But still, there are options like the Razer BlackWidow Chroma and the Logitech G910 that are just as well built as the options above.

Razer BlackWidow Chroma
If you have typed on Cherry MX blues, then you know how satisfying and assuring those click sounds are, and the tactile feedback that you get on MX blues is undoubtedly the best feeling of any mechanical switch as far as typing is concerned.
However, the blues are not the best for executing rapid double-taps in gaming, since they have a travel distance of nearly 2.2 mm, and you need to let the key up until it reaches its reset point, before you can press it down to register the second command.
This is where the Razer greens come in, they offer the same tactile feedback and aural pleasure as the blues, but feature a reduced 1.9 mm travel, along with a much shorter reset point that is almost right above the actuation point. In short, these are better for gaming.
The switches are not all that is awesome about this keyboard, since it also features per-key customizable RGB backlighting. The closed key design allows for brighter and more vibrant lighting compared to the open-key design that you’ll find on the BlackWidow X, as well as the Corsair K70, K65, and K95.
The closed design prevents leakage of light to the sides, and allows Razer to install a reflective back plate underneath the board which acts as an amplifier of sorts, reflecting all the light upwards, right at you. You can choose from lighting presets inside the software, or set custom per-key lighting profiles according to your preferences.
In addition to the cool lighting, there are some really useful extra keys on this keyboard. These are the 5 programmable macro keys that you can configure from the Razer Synapse software, and you can basically set them up to execute any combination of key presses that you like.
There are no dedicated media keys, although the F-keys have media functionality built right into them, and you also disable your Windows-key and change backlight intensity with the F-keys. One of the best things about this keyboard is the addition of a USB pass-through on the side, along with two 3.5 mm input jacks for your gaming headphone and microphone.

Logitech RGB G910
At first glance, the Logitech G910 Orion Spark seems like it is over-engineered, with an asymmetrical design for the rubberized wrist rest and 10 extra keys squeezed into the left side. The 4 macro keys and 6 programmable “G” keys also support RGB backlighting just like the rest of the keys, except for the 5 dedicated media keys and the backlight keys.
The keyboard features Logitech’s own exclusive ROMER-G mechanical switches that have been designed in cooperation with OMRON. ROMER-G mechanical switches actuate 25% faster than MX reds, due to the shorter 1.5 actuation distance, and feature a 3 mm travel distance.
These switches feature the LED diode in the middle of the key stem, allowing for less peripheral bleeding and brighter backlighting in each key, since the light literally lies in the center of the keycaps.
The keys deliver a non-audible nearly linear press, with very subtle tactile feedback. They are springier than a MX blue, yet not as linear as a red while bottoming out. The biggest difference that you’ll notice between this keyboard and normal gaming keyboards, is the angled keycaps.
Logitech says that the sharp angles and wedge-like ridges on the corners of each keycap will prevent your fingers from slipping during intense gaming sessions, and that is true. But these switches are not the best for typing and they cannot be replaced with MX compatible keycaps since the stem design on ROMER-G switches is completely different.
Each key features RGB lighting, and you can literally add millions of colors to your keyboard, since the light diodes can reproduce nearly all 16.7 million colors in the RGB spectrum. The 4 macro keys can be programmed on the fly, and you can reprogram the 5 dedicated G-keys on the left side of the keyboard to whichever function you like.
There is a Windows-key disable button on the top, right next to the backlight control button, and on the side there are the dedicated media controls along with the volume wheel. You can access in-game data on your smartphone display by connecting it to your keyboard via the retractable ARX dock, and can also change the settings of your Logitech mouse from the smartphone itself.

Razer BlackWidow Chroma C.O.D.
Razer’s BlackWidow Chroma is their flagship mechanical gaming keyboard and comes with plenty of extra features that we shall discuss below. And, while this one is pretty much the same as the Chroma keyboard listed above, this one is the Call of Duty: Black Ops III edition.
Like the standard Chroma, the Black Ops III edition utilizes Razer’s own custom made green mechanical switches.
Razer green mechanical switches are rated with a lifespan of up to 80 million keystrokes and are said to actuate faster than MX reds, with a tactile feedback that is quite similar to that of a MX blue switch.
The keys have a 3.8 m travel, and actuate at 1.9 mm, at which point you hear a click sound and feel a light tactile bump. On bottoming out the keys, you will hear a louder final “thump” sound, and the pressure needed to fully bottom out these keys is ~55 grams.
Moving on to the lights, this keyboard features extremely vibrant and bright per-key customizable backlighting. It has a white reflective plate built in right underneath the switches that enhances the lights emitted by the diodes in the key switches, and bounces it upwards with maximum intensity.
You can customize the lighting from the Razer synapse software, which comes with several preset lighting modes built in. The software is very simple to use, and is much more user friendly than Corsair’s CUE software.
There are 5 macro buttons on the left side of the keyboard, and if you are an RTS or MMORPG player, these can come in quite handy. The f-keys have media functions built into them, such as play, pause, rewind, forward, volume up and down, etc.
You can disable the Windows-key, and reprogram almost any key on the entire keyboard to whichever function you want. The right side of this keyboard carries a USB pass-through port and 3.5 mm headphone input jack, as well as a 3.5 mm microphone port. The BlackWidow Chroma supports 10-key rollover for extreme anti-ghosting.

Rosewill RK-9000V2
If you are a keyboard enthusiast, then you’ve probably heard about Rosewill. These guys are focused on providing top-notch quality and a professional grade user experience to their loyal customer base.
The RK-9000V2 is one of the best no-nonsense mechanical keyboards out there, and is built like a tank. Upon lifting it up, you immediately feel the amount of weight that this keyboard packs, thanks to the internal metal chassis. While purchasing the keyboard, you can choose between MX blacks, blues, browns, and reds depending on your personal taste.
There are no fancy backlights or dedicated media control keys, all media and volume options are controlled via the f-keys.
One of the things that we really like about this keyboard is the detachable cord. There are two cords provided in the box, and one of them is a regular braided USB 2.0 cord with a gold-plated connector, while the other is a PS2 cord.
The PS2 cord can come in really handy if you want to use the full N-key rollover or change settings in your BIOS, since some older motherboards may be incompatible with USB-connected keyboards.
There is no software provided with the keyboard, nor does it support any. This might be a bummer for the guys who expect to run a light carnival on their desk, or set macros, but if you think about it, those extra features are not for everyone.
Some guys just want to plug their keyboard in, and use it right away without having to tinker with programmable keys, backlighting, polling rates, etc. If you are one of them, then this keyboard is worth a try.
It has 100% genuine Cherry switches, weighs nearly as much as a 15.6” laptop, and can be used as a hand-held weapon (seriously though, it is VERY well built and will last a lifetime).

Thermaltake Poseidon Z
If you’re searching for a cheap mechanical gaming keyboard with per-key RGB backlighting and the ability to save custom gaming profiles, then the Poseidon Z RGB keyboard from TT e-esports could be the one for you.
This keyboard uses Cherry blue-equivalent switches (feel VERY similar to the real ones), and these switches give a very distinct click sound when pressed. They actuate at 2 mm, and have a maximum travel of 4 mm.
Along with the distinctive click sound, you’ll also feel a slight tactile bump as you press down on the switches, just at the actuation point.
Typing on this keyboard is a very pleasant experience, and even though the switches are manufactured by a Chinese company, TT is wise to provide an extended 5-year warranty on this keyboard. If your switches fail within this period, you can always send the keyboard back to TT and the will send you a replacement for free.
Moving on to the RGB backlighting- even though it is mentioned on the box that this keyboard supports the full 16.7 M color spectrum, that is a rather tall claim. It seems like the keys can be lit in most of the popular colors, and the intensity is easily adjustable via the F-keys.
The construction of the keyboard feels solid and extra durable. You cannot flex or twist the keyboard no matter how hard you try and the rubber pegs on the bottom will prevent it from sliding on the desk. There is a fair bit of weight to this keyboard (nearly 3 pounds), and it supports N-key rollover for gaming.
Five of the function keys can be reprogrammed to support any complex combination of keys, or you can reprogram them into whichever key you like through the software. There is a Windows-key disable option, as well as a few preset lighting modes that you can customize from the software.

CM Storm QuickFire Ultimate
The CM Storm QuickFire lineup is preferred by many gamers worldwide even though CM Storm is basically a subsidiary brand of Cooler Master, a company known for making CPU coolers and computer cases.
The reason this particular keyboard brand is so famous, is its amazing build quality and affordable price. While there are many mechanical keyboards out there that use Cherry MX red switches, most of them come with certain unwanted design features or unnecessary gimmicks that only adds to the size footprint and the cost of the keyboard.
The CM Storm Quickfire only has what is necessary- 100% genuine MX red switches under all keys, laser etched and double-shot keycaps, backlighting, and a strong body that is one of the most rigid and flex-resistant keyboard bodies we have ever seen.
There is a steel back plate embedded right underneath the thick ABS plastic top panel of this keyboard. This steel back plate houses the MX red switches and provides a strong platform for you to type on, and totally eliminates flexing or bending no matter how hard you strike the keys.
It also spans across the entire length of the keyboard, preventing the body from twisting or bending under load, and gives the keyboard a nice weighted feeling. The MX reds are of course quite pleasant to type on due to the low amount of noise that they make, and are excellent for gaming due to the linear travel and short reset point.
This keyboard also supports full N-key rollover although there seem to be no macros or programmable keys.
The red backlight can be adjusted right from the keyboard itself, and you can choose from 3 different lighting modes (static, breathing, and off), as well as 5 brightness levels. There are no dedicated media keys, but the F-keys come with media control functionality built-in so you can toggle between normal function keys and media keys mode.
You can also lock the Windows-key and switch between 4 polling rates- 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz, and 1000 Hz. The back of the keyboard has built-in cable routing paths, so cable management should be fairly easy. And yes, the keyboard features a detachable braided USB 2.0 cable, something all gaming keyboards should have by now.

Razer BlackWidow X Ultimate
The BlackWidow line of gaming keyboards has been around for quite some time, and is arguably one of the most popular mechanical gaming keyboards in the world. It has been reinvented in the form of the new BlackWidow X, and its design is inspired by the open-switch construction of the Corsair K-series keyboards.
What this means, is that the metal backplate is exposed and the Razer green switches are mounted on top of it, with half of the switches protruding outside. This has two distinct advantages over closed designs- it is easier to clean the dust from between the switches and keycaps, and secondly, it looks really cool.
Talking about the new Razer green switches- these are rated with a lifespan of 80 million keystrokes, which is 30 million more than what Cherry offers on their MX mechanical switches. Whether this claim is true or not is something we cannot test, but Razer has proof to back it up and has its own assembly line to manufacture these custom mechanical switches.
They test the durability and actuation force, travel distance, etc. and make sure that everything is up to spec. The Razer greens are a special type of tactile switch optimized especially for gaming, and are clicky like Cherry blues, yet have a much better reset time compared to blues which allows you to execute faster double taps, you can also strafe better in games like CS: GO.
The military grade metal top on this keyboard features a nice matte finish that is surprisingly good at resisting fingerprints and oil, while the keycaps are very well textured and are laser etched. The green backlight is very vibrant and you can change its intensity from the software or with the help of the function keys.
There is support for 10-key rollover and you can also set macros or reprogram the keys. A two-year limited warranty covers this keyboard, and you can also choose the special “stealth” version of the BlackWidow X Ultimate that comes with Razer Orange keys. Those are much quieter than the greens, and also have a slight tactile feedback.

Tesoro Durandal Ultimate
If you’re a fan of Tesoro and their rock-solid designs, then the Durandal Ultimate is a keyboard that you should definitely look up. The entire body feels really rigid and has absolutely zero flex to it.
The edges are angled beautifully, and the non-detachable wrist rest features a textured rubber finish that feels really smooth and comfortable. Even though the top panel has a dark brushed aluminum-like finish, it is actually made from plastic.
Don’t worry, as the brushed finish won’t wear out any time soon. The keycaps are really smooth to the touch and are double-shot as well as laser etched for increased toughness and longevity.
This Tesoro keyboard utilizes the famous Cherry MX Brown mechanical switch, which is a tactile switch with no audible click during activation. The red backlight is fully customizable via the Tesoro software, and you can assign macros to the function keys.
There are no dedicated macro or media keys, although the F-keys double as media control keys. The font is sharp and very legible, and the bright red backlight contrasts the charcoal black keycaps perfectly. You can disable the Windows keys through the software, and can adjust the lighting patterns as well as intensity.
As for the extra features, Tesoro has included a couple of really handy USB 2.0 pass-through ports that can be used to plug in a media device, external hard drive, or you can even use them to charge your phone.
There are also two 3.5 mm input jacks on the side to accept headphone and microphone input. The steel back plate under the switches helps this keyboard maintain a high level of structural rigidity, while the rubber feet on the bottom prevent it from slipping.

Logitech G710+
The G710+ keyboard from Logitech has been a favorite among professional MOBA and RTS players. Many professional DOTA and Starcraft players prefer this keyboard because of its comfortable design, dedicated macro keys, and dual zone backlighting.
With the dual zone lighting controls, you can independently control the illumination levels of a specific group of keys on the keyboard, or create a unique “lighting zone”.
For Starcraft, Warcraft, and other MMORPG/ RTS players, the 6 programmable G-keys as well as the 4 separate macro keys are immensely useful as they can bind complex command sequences and scripts to these 10 extra keys and execute highly micro-intensive tasks with one button press.
The keys can be programmed via the software (Logitech G software), and you can also control the lighting effects from there itself. There are dedicated keys for light controls on the keyboard itself, and you can switch between three different intensities for the light from your keyboard hotkey- off, low, high.
The dedicated volume wheel and media buttons are super useful while watching movies or listening to music, and you can also use the volume wheel to decrease in-game volume without having to open up the menu.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), there is no RGB backlighting on this keyboard. Just the good old white backlight that was popular before Cherry announced their shiny new Christmas key switches for everyone. Talking of switches, this keyboard is only available with browns.
They offer a nice balance of tactile feedback and silent operation so you can never really go wrong with them. It also features a nice, wide wrist rest that does not look like the spaceship landing pads on the G910. The wrist rest feels smooth and comfy with its lightly textured finish. And yes, this keyboard also supports 26-key rollover.

The G610 Orion has a minimalistic design with normal slightly depressed keycaps that feel great for typing and gaming, along with simple white backlighting. You can customize the light patterns and intensities, as well as use a variety of preset light mods such as trigger, breathe, wave, etc.
The keys are mounted in a gradual step-like curve pattern from the bottom to the top of the keyboard, so your fingers always get the perfect angle for each key while using the keyboard.
The body feels extremely solid and lives up to the standards of quality set by Logitech peripherals. There are rubberized feet beneath the keyboard that help it maintain a solid grip on any desk, and the adjustable kick stands on the back will let you control the stance of your keyboard.
Once you download the Logitech G gaming software, you can set macros for all the F-keys, from F1 up to F12. There is a special Windows-key disable button that will put your keyboard in gaming mode, in which all F-keys will switch over into macro mode.
Dedicated circle-shaped media controls and backlight control keys are included above the F-keys and number pad.
The dedicated volume wheel is super helpful and is quite similar to the design found on the K70 and K95 series of keyboards from Cosair. One of the things we really like about this keyboard was the fact that they shifted over the media controls to the right side, and put the LED indicators for the Num, Caps, and Scroll lock keys in the middle.
This allows you to see the lights much more conveniently, if you tend to look at your keyboard while typing. The braided cable is really thick, and is attached to the keyboard via a rubber shock absorbing attachment.

Tesoro Excalibur Spectrum
Tesoro is known to create keyboards that don’t look very flashy or futuristic, but contain tons of extra features and perks. The Excalibur spectrum looks like a regular keyboard when you pull it out of the box and put it on your table.
It has no sharp edges, fancy keycaps, or futuristic design elements to imply that it is a gaming keyboard. But when you plug it into your computer via the braided cable and gold plated USB 2.0 connector, you will immediately notice two things- it is an RGB backlit keyboard, and it supports multi-key rollover (up to 6 keys).
Depending on the type of Cherry MX mechanical switch that you prefer, Tesoro allows you to choose from three versions of the Excalibur Spectrum, for blues, browns, and reds.
This keyboard supports on the fly macro recording, along with per-key customizable RGB backlighting that can be configured via the software. Or you can use the keyboard command combinations to change the backlight pattern. Some of the coolest looking backlight modes are- trigger, ripple, firework, breathing, spectrum, and wave marquee.
Although there are no dedicated media buttons or volume control dials/ knobs, you can conveniently adjust media options and volume from the f-keys in combination with the function key, just like you do on a laptop keyboard.
The backlight intensity can be adjusted, and there are rubber feet on the bottom of the plastic keyboard base to hold it firmly onto your desk. The angled feet on the back can be retracted or raised to change the keyboard stance, and the entire body is very well built and rigid.

Razer DeathStalker Expert
If you like Chiclet keyboards and short travel times, then the DeathStalker lineup of gaming keyboards from Razer might be perfect for you.
While the most basic model in this lineup, the Deathstalker Essential offers no backlighting or macro recording, the slightly higher-priced Deathstalker Expert keyboard has both of those features. The backlight intensity can be changed from the keyboard itself, and the color is Razer green.
You can add in macro keys through the Razer Synapse 2.0 software, and can also record macros on the fly as you game. Anti-ghosting is supported up to 10 simultaneous keystrokes, which should be plenty for just about any gaming scenario.
The low profile Chiclet keys on this keyboard have a really short 2 mm travel distance, and have a slightly tactile feel to them, more than any normal membrane keyboard. They still feel mushy and have a spongy response when bottomed out, but the low travel distance is actually helpful during gaming since your inputs will register faster than a membrane keyboard with tall keycaps.
The entire board is made from high quality ABS plastics, and feels quite sturdy. Razer have also included some sort of heavy plate right underneath the keys in order to give the keyboard a little more weight and structural rigidity, since this keyboard weighs a hefty 2.21 pounds.
The keys are lit with a brilliant green backlight, which can be adjusted via the function keys or the Razer Synapse software. It has a dedicated gaming mode, in which the Windows key is disabled and all the macro bindings are put into effect with the press of one button.
The rubberized wrist rest is incredibly comfortable, although some people with larger hands might find that its height is a little bit too low for comfortable typing over longer durations. This is a full-size keyboard and measures 18.5” x 8.43” x 0.84”.

Razer DeathStalker Essential
The Deathstalker Essential is the most basic gaming keyboard that Razer has to offer, yet it packs a serious punch. If you have used Chiclet style keys on a Macbook or any laptop, then you must know that those have a very short travel distance and actuate fairly fast.
The Deathstalker Essential uses specially designed membrane keys that don’t have much tactile feedback unlike mechanical switches, but these keys tend to actuate super-fast and bottom out within a few milliseconds of being pressed. There are no programmable or macro keys either, nor is there any backlighting.
To get a mental image of how much advantage these keys will give you over a regular membrane keyboard, picture the Chiclet keys on your laptop.
Now, decrease the actuation force by 25-30%, add in some tactile feedback, and reduce the travel time by a few milliseconds. That is how the Razer membrane switched will feel like. There is no audile click when you press them down, so your roommates will probably be quite happy with your keyboard choice.
So basically, this keyboard is faster than a normal membrane keyboard, cheaper than a mechanical keyboard, has ultra-low key travel, and makes next to no sound while in use.
The large wrist rest on the bottom of the Deathstalker is non-detachable, but has a nice wedged shape that will fit your palm perfectly and you can position your fingers at the perfect angle for stress-free gaming and typing over long durations of time.
The rubber feet prevent his keyboard from slipping around on your table, and the 10-key rollover ensures that you can issue 10-commands at the same time to your system by pressing 10 keys simultaneously. If you happen to use more keys than that simultaneously, then you’re probably wiping your keyboard instead of typing on it.

Logitech G105
The G105 is not the latest of gaming keyboards, but has a fair amount of gaming-oriented features stacked up inside the large 19” long plastic frame. There are 4 macro keys, 6 programmable “G” keys on the left corner, and it also features a dedicated key to lock the Windows button.
For those of you that love backlighting, this one comes with dual level backlighting, which can be toggled through a dedicated switch. There is an off mode for the backlight as well, so you can turn it off whenever you don’t feel like you need that extra glow on your desk. Five-key rollover ensures a seamless gaming experience in both fighting as well as FPS games.
Despite its plastic construction, this keyboard has got a bit of heft to it, and weighs a good 2.8 pounds. While it is not mentioned anywhere in the manual or on the product page, we are quite sure that there is a metal plate underneath the keys which is probably the reason why this keyboard is so rigid and has zero flex.
Typing on the mushy membrane keys is not the most satisfying experience, but is still worlds ahead of your average Dell or HP membrane keyboard.
The WASD and arrow keycaps are grey colored for additional highlighting and feature a slight rubberized texture so your fingers will stay stuck onto them while gaming. There are no dedicated media keys, although you can still use the function and f-keys to manipulate video playback and media volume.
The base has adjustable feet with rubber pegs on them, and the cord is a thick braided type. On-the-fly macro recording is possible through the Logitech G software, and you can set up complicated LUA scripts or bind multiple commands to any of the programmable G-keys.

Redragon K552 KUMARA
The Reddragon Kumara K552 is a perfect starter for anyone who is looking to transition from membrane keyboards to mechanical keyboards. It comes in at less than half the price of most other budget mechanical gaming keyboards in the market, and that is partly due to the ten-keyless compact design.
It features 87 keys, and all of them have an adjustable red backlight. There are no dedicated media buttons, although you can use the function key along with the f-keys to play/ pause, fast forward, rewind, etc. The keyboard does not feel cheap at all, and is actually quite heavy due to its aluminum and ABS construction.
The entire base and side of the keyboard is made from thick ABS plastic, while the interior features a metal backplate to support the key switches, and it also prevents the board from flexing.
Redragon continues to impress with its double-shot PBT keycaps that are also injection molded for added durability and consistency. These can be swapped out for aftermarket keycaps, since the stem of the custom mechanical switch used on this keyboard is fully compatible with Cherry keycaps.
The key switches themselves are pretty good for typing as well as gaming, since they mimic Cherry Greens which are basically Cherry Blues with a slightly stiffer actuation force. The keys make loud clicks when pressed down, and actuate after 2 mm of travel. They bottom out after approximately 4 mm of travel, and you can also install 0-rings to reduce the noise and travel distance.
There are no macros or programmable keys on this keyboard, as it is a pretty basic mechanical keyboard intended for entry level gamers or FPS players who want a simple, no-frills keyboard for everyday gaming.
You will love to type on it as well, since the switches are quite like Cherry Blues, and everyone loves to type on Cherry Blues. The sound can be annoying to some, but you can fix that with some O-rings.
The bottom of the keyboard has rubber feet and adjustable stands for changing the stance while typing or gaming. The cord is a pretty thick braided one, and features a gold plated USB connector.

Cooler Master improved upon the original Devastator mouse + keyboard combo, and the new MEM-CHANICAL switches feel absolutely great to type and game on. Cooler Master Devastator II
For less than 40 bucks, there is no other keyboard and mouse combo that provides as much bang for the buck as the Cooler Master Devastator 2. It is based on the highly successful Devastator 1 keyboard + mouse combo, and features some really cool upgrades over its predecessor.
The biggest upgrade of all happens to be the new membrane-mechanical hybrid keyboard switch that Cooler Master has labeled as “mem-chanical” switches.
They give the tactile feedback of a membrane keyboard, while also delivering that soft cushiony feel of a membrane keyboard switch when you press all the way down. Unlike a true mechanical switch these do not actuate in the middle of the key press, but they still feel more responsive than your average membrane keyboard switch.
The best part about these new hybrid key switches is that you can replace the default keycaps with authentic Cherry MX compatible keycaps. The default keycaps are laser-etched, so the font will not wear off anytime soon.
This mouse + keyboard combo is available in three different colors based on the backlight- red, green, and blue. There are dedicated media controls on the top of the keyboard, and these are illuminated as well, just like the rest of the keys.
The mouse is an ambidextrous type, and features a DPI shift button that allows you to switch between 4 different DPI settings from 500 to 2000. The left and right clicks on the mouse feel tactile and snappy, while the side buttons are quite decent for everyday usage, although the tactile feedback is a little too low for gaming.
The bottom of the keyboard features rubber feet and retractable stands to adjust the height and tilt.

Azio Levetron L70
At first glance, it seems as though this keyboards design was inspired by the famous Das Professional line of keyboards. Just like the Das Professional Keyboard, this Azio model sports a slightly extended section on the upper right part of the keyboard, along with a dedicated volume control knob that’s placed just above the number pad keys.
There are blue accents on either side of the keyboards body in order to match the blue backlighting on its keys. You will also notice that the fonts are very sharp and clear to read. There are no dedicated media control keys, although you do have a Windows-key disable option to prevent you from accidentally switching over to your desktop in the middle of a game.
The body of this keyboard is made entirely from plastic and feels quite sturdy in the hand. The flex is minimal, and there appears to be no noticeable bending or point of strain across the entire length of the top panel, and the keycaps feel pretty good for typing as well as gaming.
You can definitely game on this keyboard for several hours, as the membrane switches feel soft and give a cushion-like feel while bottoming out. Of course they are not as responsive or tactile as mechanical switches, but are definitely as good, if not better than some of the more expensive membrane gaming keyboards out there.
The detachable wrist wrest has a smooth rubberized finish all over the top, and is large enough to fit all hand sizes. There are rubber pegs underneath the base of this keyboard to stop it from around on your desk, and the extendable feet allow you to adjust the height and tilt of your keyboard.
While the cord is not braided, it does not feel flimsy or cheap at all, and is securely attached to the keyboard via a reinforced joint that doesn’t feel like it will break anytime soon. Six-key rollover allows you to press 6 keys at the same time, and register all of them. This can be pretty handy in some racing and FPS games, as well as in fighting games.
There are no programmable keys or macro keys, but for less than 30 bucks this keyboard already offers so much that we can’t really complain about the lack of programmable keys. Also, if you mainly play fps games, you probably won’t be needing macros or programmable keys anyway.
