The Best PC Speakers for Gaming in 2014

In today’s article we’re going to take a look at some of the best speaker sets for your gaming computer. These speakers will give you incredible sound for any budget and there are a few surround sound options that will take your gaming experience to the next level.

Gaming SpeakersAs gaming has continued to advance and become more realistic, so, too, has the sound incorporated in them.

Long gone are the days of cheesy–but awesome–beeps and bleeps. Now, video games are built to accommodate 5.1 surround sound systems to further increase your gaming experience.

With a solid sound system hooked up to your computer, you will experience your games like never before. In games that support surround sound, you’ll be able to hear behind you and to the side of you, which will create a more realistic experience.

Not only that, but in some situations, being able to hear in multiple directions may even give you a slight advantage over your non-surround-sound-using opponent.

So, whether your goal is to create the ultimate gaming computer, or if you want just want to throw together a nice budget build, you should definitely consider the boost you’ll receive by adding a nice set of speakers.

In this post, we will take a look at the best PC speakers for gaming in 2014 at various price ranges for different budget sizes. I’ve broken down the categories into five different price ranges: speakers under $50, speakers between $50-$100, speakers between $100-$200, and speakers over $200.

I only chose one set of speakers for each price range and while there are definitely some other worthy sound systems in these price ranges, I felt these offered the best returns for PC gamers.

From biz04 on Amazon:

I’ve been very impressed with this sound system since purchasing it about 2 months ago. The sound quality, volume, build quality, and overall aesthetics are outstanding, and outperform in my mind much more expensive systems I’ve spent a significant amount of time listening to or even previously owned from Bose, Klipsch, JBL, Logitech, or Cambridge SoundWorks. My only complaint is the on/off switch is a bit tough to flip with its location on the side of the volume dial rather than a push button on the side or top of the volume dial. Other than that, the range of the satellite speakers is excellent, and as long as you fine tune the bass volume out of the box, the system has excellent sound quality and can reach a floor rattling volume without much distortion. All for a bargain basement price.

From Matas Empakeris on Amazon:

Conclusion: These are great, and if you don’t have the cash for the Bose Companion Series Speakers or anything in that price range and above, then get these!

From Ulysses on Amazon:

I can no longer listen to my laptop or mac computer speakers because this product creates such a high quality sound. The others sound too flat now. These speakers are great for the low price and can create a surround sound experience. The bass with these speakers is very good as well. I would recommend this product to anyone!

From P. Rewakowski on Amazon:

These speakers are great for the price, the cables are a little short but you can get extensions at any radio shack. I use these speakers with my computer, which is part of my multimedia room, I run windows xp media center edition and everyone who comes over to watch movies cannot believe the sound these things put out, I will say that you get better results when you leave the volume on the speakers up high and control the volume with the PC or TV.

From runski14 on Amazon:

When i was looking at reviews i really wanted to know how long the cord to the rear speakers were. So im posting this to let people know. The rear speaker cords are 14 feet long.

As far as the rest of the system, the speakers are amazing. I had a cheap pair of 2.1 speakers before and these blow the doors off of them.

From Francisco Cortez on Amazon:

I bought this system about two years ago now. And it’s still the best system you can find out there right now. Of course I paid 900$ at the time when I purchased it, but worth every penny. The sound quality is amazing, and the picture is as good as it gets. The system does work best with 7.1 channel movies. The only problem is, if there is one’ is the apps the system cons with. Other than Netflix, Pandora, YouTube, and Vudu, the rest of the app are not really worth downloading. But if your in the market for a great home theater sound system the Samsung 7.1 channel surround system is the best one out there.

From John J on Amazon:

This group is exactly what I was looking for. It has amazing sound quality for the price! I highly recomend buying this if you are in the market for a sound system that performs above expectations.
