If you haven’t played League of Legends yet, then you’re missing out. I was a little late to the LOL bandwagon, but now that I have arrived I’m totally hooked. This game is addicting, to say the least. And, since I love to get other people hooked on the things that I am currently hooked on (why do you think I created this site?!!?!) I’d like to take the time to write a post on how you can get a solid computer for League of Legends for pretty cheap.
Of course, you’re going to have to build your own system in order to get the most performance for the least amount of money… but with my complete computer-building guide, that should be a piece of cake. And, I know I say this a lot, but if you can operate a screwdriver and read, you are overqualified to build your own computer.
So, in this post I will give you a very affordable build ($400) that will easily max League of Legends out. But first, let’s take a look at the system requirements you’ll need to meet in order to play League of Legends…
CHECK LEAGUE OF LEGENDS SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
League of Legends is not the most demanding game and, therefore, it doesn’t have insane minimum system requirements that you have to meet in order for you to play. Fortunately, this means that you can build a very budget-friendly gaming computer that will allow you to play League of Legends on max settings.
Here are the League of Legends System Requirements (minimum and recommended) as listed by Riot:
Minimum Specs for League of Legends
- 2GHz CPU
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB available on your hard drive
- Support for DirectX v9.0 or better
Recommended Specs for League of Legends
- 3GHz CPU
- 2GB of RAM
- 12GB available on your hard drive
- GeForce 8800 or Radeon HD 5670 (or higher)
- Support for DirectX v9.0
If you’re familiar at all with PC hardware, then you’ll know obtaining even the recommended specs for playing League of Legends won’t be difficult at all. Still, there are those out there who are stuck on older laptops or desktops who are struggling to play their favorite game.
There’s also those out there who aren’t PC gamers, but who have heard of League of Legends and are looking to put together a PC that will allow them to jump into one of the most popular games ever.
For those of you who are looking to get a PC for League of Legends, the following build will allow you to max out LoL easily for about $400 (not including your operating system.) Not only that, but it will serve as a very powerful entry-level gaming PC and will allow you to play most modern games on medium-to-higher settings.
Build a Gaming PC for League of Legends for Under $400
What follows is a list of parts that you can buy that, when assembled, will allow you to max out League of Legends (and most other games, as well) for about $400. If you’re worried about assembling a computer, don’t worry… it’s definitely not as hard as you might think.
And, by building your own gaming PC, rather than buying it pre-built from a computer manufacturer, you will save a ton of money and ultimately get more bang for your buck.
For $400, the following parts are your best bet at building a very solid entry-level gaming computer.
GRAND TOTAL: $370-$430
