Razer DeathAdder Gaming Mouse

Have you ever been playing a shooter, running towards a base, before you get ambushed by an enemy squad?

Unprepared for this attack, you try to spray as many bullets as you can into these adversaries, but your mouse isn’t fast enough to turn around and perform this seemingly simple task!

This problem is actually prevalent to many gamers that don’t understand the importance of a quality mouse.

Logitech G110 Gaming KeyboardImagine this: you are in the middle of a raid with your buddies, pulling down the newest “big-baddy” boss of the game. It’s getting intense, you are pulling aggro, using every button on your hot bar just to try to defeat this new fiend…

But then you wipe, and the night is over. You realize afterwards that the reason you couldn’t keep up with your raid-mates is because you were constantly stretching your hand across your old keyboard.

Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower Computer CaseIt’s Friday and it’s time for another mini giveaway contest here on EGC. This weekend I’ll be holding a small contest for a Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower computer case.

I, personally, love Cooler Master cases and this is one of the better sub-$50 mid tower cases on the market.

So, I figured it would be the perfect starting point for somebody’s new gaming computer.

And, since having these contests has been a great way to get people involved on Elite Gaming Computers and because it has really helped to build the foundation of a solid community, I figured that another small giveaway should be had.

So, while I have been having fun giving free stuff away, I’ve had even more fun watching the EGC community grow. And, ultimately, that’s my main goal with this site…

With that being said, here are the rules and guidelines for the contest…

Corsair HX650Few things can turn your monster gaming computer that you’ve just built into a pile of fried parts like a power surge.

Your power supply carries a huge burden and therefore it must be the most reliable and durable part of your computer.

Power supplies come in many different forms: some that can utilize large amounts of power, some that can only utilize a small amount, some that have colorful fans, and some that are dead silent, just to name a few.

ASUS Sabertooth Z77 ReviewThe most overlooked part of the computer by first-time builders is also the component that is at the center of the computer: the motherboard.

Not only does the motherboard connect all of your computer’s components together, but the quality of your motherboard will also determine the quality of components you can choose in your build.

There are a lot of different motherboards out there and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Free Intel Core i7-3770KHello everyone! Today I’m excited to announce that I have a free un-opened Intel Core i7-3770K quad-core processor that I’m giving away for FREE!

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is planning on building their own gaming computer to get one of the most important components for their system: the processor. And, the Intel Core i7-3770K is one of the most powerful processors on the market today.

While this processor costs a little over $300 on Amazon, I was able to get it for a very good price. However, I already have an Intel Core i5-3570K and that suits me just fine. So, rather than upgrade my processor I’ve decided that I’m going to give the i7-3770K away to someone who actually needs it.

And, to make this whole process a little more fun, I’m going to hold a contest for the CPU. There’s one prize and one winner. Whoever wins the contest, wins the processor!

Win A Free Intel Core i7-3770K–Contest Rules and Guidelines

The following are four ways that you can enter yourself into this contest:

By doing any one of the following, you will be entered into the contest. However, by doing all four you will give yourself four entries into the contest and you will increase your odds of winning by 300%! (Not to mention, I will probably be swayed more by people who are doing all four of the steps, instead of someone who is just doing one of them.)

The contest ends at midnight on Sunday, June 2nd and I will choose the winner at my own discretion the following day. Once the decision is made, it is final.

Let the games begin!

Check Out the Intel Core i7-3770K

**This contest has ended. Congratulations to Justin Hicks for winning a free Intel Core i7-3770KThanks to everyone who participated!**

Christian’s Review of the AMD FX-8150

AMD FX-8150 ReviewThe processor is definitely one of the most important components in a computer. It’s basically the brain of the computer.

And, because it’s so important, you do not want to “skimp” on your CPU choice. The better the processor you get, the better your system will run now and in the future.

So, if you are looking to create a killer gaming/live-streaming/recording machine, but are working with a budget, you will want to get a capable processor that doesn’t cost a fortune… For this I recommend the AMD FX-8150 Zambezi.

In the following post I will review the AMD FX-8150 and go over the details of why it’s a great processor. I personally own this CPU and so I can clue you in on what it’s capable of.

Best Intel Motherboards for Gaming Over $300This is the final post in our The Best Intel Motherboards series and it’s going to take a look at the best Intel motherboards over $300.

Now, there are quite a few extreme boards that cost $300 or more and choosing just three is a little difficult. And, ultimately, any board that you pay over $300 for is probably going to be a solid motherboard.

However, for the sake of this series, I’m going to limit myself to picking just three. If you have over $300 to spend on your motherboard, then the three Intel boards on this list will serve your needs well.

Since most people will be using an LGA 1155 processor, I’ve chosen two LGA 1155 motherboards for this section. I’ve also decided to include an LGA 2011 motherboard on this list as well, because if you’re spending over $300 on your motherboard, there’s a decent chance that you could be going with a higher end processor as well.

Finally, I’d just like to note that these motherboards are best suited for builds that will be utilizing three to four video cards, as well as doing some heavy overclocking. If you want a high-end motherboard, but you don’t want to run three-four video cards, then I suggest taking a look at some of the boards in the $200-$300 range. They will have all of the features and options you could ever need, plus they will allow you to put the extra money into other components.

Best Intel Motherboards for Gaming 2013This is the fourth post in The Best Intel Motherboards for Gaming in 2013 and today I’m going to look at the best high-end motherboards between $200-$300.

This price range is where we really start to see some of the more extreme features come into play. And, with the price you’re paying for these boards, you should get extreme features and functionality.

For this price range I’ve chosen two ASUS motherboards and an ASRock board.

Surprisingly, my first option (ASUS Sabertooth Z77) isn’t from ASUS’ Republic of Gamers line. However, with it’s military grade components, five-year warranty, and long list of features, I felt that I had to throw the Sabertooth on this list.

The other two boards listed are extremely high-quality boards as well and any of the options in this post are going to give you more than you could have ever hoped.

In the end, these motherboards aren’t for everyone. So, if you have a pretty good-sized budget and you’re looking for a high-quality motherboard to build off of, the three boards mentioned below will give you three options that are well worth your consideration.

Best Intel Motherboards for GamingIn today’s installment of The Best Intel Motherboards for Gaming in 2013 I’m going to look at the best Intel motherboards between $150-$200.

The main reason why I have broken down the $100-$200 price range into two separate categories is because I believe there is a noticeable difference in performance between the boards that come up in the two price ranges and I think that both ranges are more suited for different budgets.

So, while the $100-$150 and $150-$200 ranges are the only categories in this series that have a range of $50, I do believe they are the ranges that suit the majority of system-builders (whether due to price or preference.)

With that being said, the $150-$200 range is the first post in this series where we will start to see some really high-end motherboards. And, for under $200, these motherboards may be the best options for gamers who are looking to maximize their mid-high budgets.

Ultimately, these boards are probably the last ones in this series that will be both effective and plausible. This is because most of the motherboards over $200 are only going to bring minor advantages over the boards listed in this range. So, if you have a pretty good sized budget, but not one that is unlimited, then these motherboards are your best bet.
